  1. Steven,
I just turned 50 and starting to try deal with my own abuse from an uncle from the age of 10-15. I read 60% of your book today, and although your abuse was much more horrific, we have many other things in common. In fact, I was blown away the more I read. Although we did these things chronologically different: abuse, alcohol, drugs, Pink Floyds The Wall (serious depression), joined the Navy, Orlando Basic, went to Meridian for SK “A” school, stationed aboard the USS Wabash (Long Beach), drinking continuously (NADSAP programs), Meth addiction in So Cal (Shooting up), promiscuity (straight or gay sex), hopelessness, HIV, left California back for Tennessee, kicked Meth and all other drugs (still clean since 94), 2 marriages (still in the 2nd), still drink beer often but other than that pretty clean. Now Im just trying to get my past abuse reconciled, if its possible.
I thank you for the courage it took to tell your story. And I cant imagine…mine was bad, but not even close. Thanks again brother/shipmate/fellow survivor.

    • So glad to hear you’re working towards healing. I never imagined what a huge problem it really was until after I published. Since then I have heard from dozens of men with stories just like yours, and they all say basically the same thing – “I can’t believe how much we have in common. I thought I was the only one”. Thanks for taking the time to share your story. The more we share, the more we can help others.
